Javascript

JavaScript (not to be confused with Java) is a high-level, dynamic, multi-paradigm, object-oriented, prototype-based, weakly-typed, and interpreted (ex: V8 JavaScript Engine) language used for both client-side (Computer Browsers) and server-side (NodeJS) scripting. Javascript was invented by Brendan Eich in 1995, and later after 2 years it became an ECMA standard in 1997. FYI : ECMAScript is the official name of the Javascript language. The latest version of JavaScript in use is v1.8.5 which was released on July 27, 2010. It is mostly used for rendering and DOM (Document Object Model) manipulating of web pages.
